HOPSA USA-Canada Code of Conduct

The standards every HOPSAN upholds — in our sisterhood, in service, and in how we treat one another.

Core Principles

Respect and Dignity: Treat all members with respect, courtesy, and consideration.
Honesty and Integrity: Maintain high ethical standards in all interactions and actions.
Confidentiality: Protect the privacy of alumnae information and adhere to established guidelines.
Professionalism: Conduct oneself in a manner that reflects positively on the alumnae association and our Alma Mater.
Inclusivity: Foster an inclusive environment that welcomes all members, regardless of personal or professional background or titles.

Specific Behaviors to Avoid

Harassment and Discrimination: Refrain from any form of harassment, discrimination, or bullying.
Threats and Intimidation: Avoid any behavior that could be perceived as threatening or intimidating.
Defamation and Misinformation: Refrain from spreading false or misleading information about other members or the Association.
Breach of Confidentiality: Do not disclose confidential information about other alumnae without their consent.

Specific to Alumnae Associations

Supporting the Mission: Embrace and support the mission and goals of HOPSA USA-Canada.
Upholding the Values: Behave in a way that upholds the values, integrity, and reputation of HOPSA USA-Canada.
Using Information Appropriately: Use information about alumnae within the guidelines of HOPSA USA-Canada.
Taking Responsibility: Take responsibility for your actions and decisions.
Supporting Leadership: Support and uphold the decisions of the association’s leadership.
Creating a Positive Experience: Strive to create a positive and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
